Emergency Information

Psychological Services Center does not have 24-hour emergency coverage. In the event that you are in need of urgent care, please use one of the resources listed below:

If you are a Syracuse University student you can go to the SU Counseling at 200 Walnut Place Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm. The Counseling Center also provides 24 hour crisis services by phone at 443-4715.

If you are not a Syracuse University student, you can seek emergency services at the hospital nearest to you:

  • St. Joseph’s CPEP: 488-6555 (201 Prospect Ave)
  • University Hospital: 464-4836 (750 East Adams St)
  • Crouse Irving-Memorial Hospital: 470-7111 (736 Irving Ave)

Additionally, the local 24-hour crisis hotline (Contact), which is an anonymous phone counseling service staffed by trained volunteers, can be reached at 251-0600, or by calling the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-TALK.

Our Fees

Syracuse University and SUNY ESF Students/Employees

Therapy Services

  • SU/SUNY ESF Students/Employees: There is no fee for the initial psychotherapy evaluation session. There is a fee of $15 for each treatment session (50 minutes) following the initial evaluation.

Assessment Services

  • Psychological assessments, including ADHD evaluations, are $200 for SU/SUNY ESF students and employees.

Community Members not Affiliated with Syracuse University:

A fee for our services will be determined by the intake coordinator based on your income and the number of individuals supported by that income. Our sliding scale ranges from $15-$35 per session. All psychological assessments are $225 for community clients.

We do not bill insurance. Clients should check with their insurance company if they are interested in seeking reimbursement for payments made to our center. All payments are due at the time services are rendered. Clients considered to have delinquent clinic accounts must negotiate a payment plan before scheduling further appointments if: (a) they have not made at least one payment at each third session or (b) their account balance exceeds four times the hourly rate.

Although most of our services are conducted by doctoral students, our licensed clinical supervisor may also provide therapy and assesment services at a fee agreed upon between the practitioner and the client.

Directions and Parking

Our clinic is located on the edge of the Syracuse University campus, on University Avenue between Marshall Street and Waverly Avenue, directly across from the University Sheraton. Meter parking is available on surrounding streets. University Ave Garage parking is located on the corner of Adams Street and University Ave. (We do not validate parking)

The clinic is wheelchair accessible.

From I-81, take the Adams St./Harrison St. exit (exit 18) and proceed east on East Adams St. (up the hill), turn right on University Ave. and continue for 1 block to the Marshall St. intersection.

From E. Genesee St., turn south on University Ave. and proceed for 4 blocks to the Marshall St. intersection.
